Our story

Why we started
Portuguese Talks

Over time, we started meeting more and more foreigners living in Portugal who shared the same challenge the Portuguese language. For many of them, the difficulty wasn't just about learning new words.

It was about everyday life. Being able to book a doctor's appointment, speak with colleagues at work, ask for help in a shop, or simply feel part of the place where they now live.

We quickly realised that when language becomes a barrier, integration becomes harder too. That is when the idea for Portuguese Talks was born.

We started with friends. Then friends of friends. The results spoke for themselves. Practical, personalised and culturally aware learning truly makes a difference.

Our mission is simple: to help foreigners communicate with confidence and feel more integrated in Portuguese language and culture through a practical and natural learning experience.

We started with a question: in which real-life situations do people actually need Portuguese? Every lesson is built from that answer.

Cultural depth

Language and culture are inseparable. Learning habits, communication styles and customs helps our students feel more connected to society.

With over 10 years of experience teaching European Portuguese to foreigners, Ana built the Portuguese Talks method from the ground up always putting real life at the centre.
